Mid-Willamette Family Y Veterans Housing provides affordable housing and supportive services that empower veterans to achieve stability, independence, and their fullest potential.

Our Story
Mid-Willamette Family Y Veterans Housing was created in response to a growing need for affordable housing and supportive services for veterans in the Mid-Willamette Valley.
What began as a shared vision among veterans, community leaders, public officials, and nonprofit partners became a community-wide commitment to ensure that veterans have more than shelter—they have a place to belong. Through the leadership of local champions and the support of public and private partners, more than $16 million was secured to develop 38 permanent affordable homes for veterans in Albany, Oregon.
Known as “A Place Called Home,” the development combines affordable housing with access to benefits navigation, peer support, community resources, and coordinated services that help veterans achieve long-term stability and well-being.
Today, Mid-Willamette Family Y Veterans Housing continues to work alongside the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 584, Link Up Vets, local government leaders, and community partners to ensure veterans have the support, connections, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Together, we are building more than housing—we are creating a community where veterans can find stability, purpose, and belonging.

Mid Willamette Family Y Veterans Housing is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donors may take a tax deduction to the full extent allowed by law for their contribution to us.

Housing & Services
A Place Called Home
A Place Called Home is a new permanent supportive housing community currently under development in Albany, Oregon, with an anticipated opening in Spring 2027.
Located near Timber-Linn Memorial Park on Price Road, the development will provide 38 affordable one-bedroom apartments, including three ADA-accessible units, for veterans earning 60% or less of Area Median Income (AMI). Monthly rents are expected to range from $900 to $1,100.
More than housing, A Place Called Home is designed to help veterans build stable, independent, and fulfilling lives. Residents will have access to personalized support and community resources that promote long-term housing stability, improved health and well-being, and greater self-sufficiency.
Note: Housing applications are not yet available. Information regarding eligibility and application timelines will be posted as the project nears completion.
Veterans Resource Center
Connecting Veterans to the Resources, Support, and Community They Need to Thrive.
The Veterans Resource Center is currently being developed and will serve as a welcoming gateway to services, support, and opportunities for veterans and their families throughout Linn and Benton Counties.
Designed as a single point of connection, the Center will help veterans navigate housing, healthcare, VA benefits, employment, education, and community resources through personalized support and resource navigation.
Special emphasis will be placed on:
- Mental health and wellness
- Employment and career transition
- Education and workforce development
- Peer support and mentorship

- Employment and education navigation

- Community workshops and events
Once fully operational, the Veterans Resource Center is expected to serve more than 100 veterans annually.
Community Resources & Support
Mid-Willamette Family Y Veterans Housing believes lasting stability is built through strong community connections. We work with a growing network of organizations that provide specialized services in mental health, financial literacy, substance use treatment, workforce development, healthcare, legal aid, and other essential supports.
Through these partnerships, veterans can access the resources they need to strengthen housing stability, improve financial well-being, address behavioral health challenges, pursue employment opportunities, and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.

How You Can Create a Family Legacy
Purchase a Brick for $1000 and leave a lasting legacy for a Friend or Family Member who served in the Military. You can also simply buy a brick with your name to show your support for Veterans.
How it works
The new Y Veterans Housing apartment complex will have a walkway of dedicated bricks, each with a name and description on them. Each brick is $1000. You can buy as many bricks as you want. This walkway will be a dedicated area with special meaning and purpose. While you get to acknowledge a friend or family member, the Y Veterans Housing gets the benefit of your generosity to support wrap-around services for Veteran residents. It’s a win-win.
